In fact, back in 2010 it gained the distinction of being named by Budget Travel as one of the top Coolest Small Towns in America. The town of Bandon was founded in 1873 by an Irish family that gave the town its name based on the town of Bandon, Ireland, from which they came. It’s located in Coos County and can be found on the south part of the Coquille River’s mouth, making for some gorgeous year round scenic views.
